Ezra 2
Chapter context
What is happening in Ezra 2?
Ezra 2 belongs to the early movement of the book, especially the section often described as first return and altar-temple rebuilding. Ezra tells of the return under Persian decree, the rebuilding of the temple, and the ministry of Ezra as priestly scribe and reformer. Read this chapter with the wider themes of return, temple, and Torah in view so the individual verses keep their proper weight.
